Terms of Service

Last updated: [date]

Draft: these terms haven't been reviewed by a lawyer yet. Have them reviewed for your business and province before launch, then remove this note.

These terms are an agreement between you and [StyleSpot's legal business name] ("StyleSpot", "we") about using StyleSpot, the website and app that connect clients with hairstylists, barbers and braiders ("stylists"). By creating an account or booking through StyleSpot, you agree to them.

1. What StyleSpot is

StyleSpot is a booking platform. Stylists are independent professionals who run their own businesses; they are not StyleSpot employees or agents. The stylist is responsible for the services they provide, their prices, their licences and insurance, and the quality and safety of their work. StyleSpot isn't a party to the agreement between a client and a stylist.

2. Your account

3. Bookings, cancellations and no-shows

4. For stylists

4a. Payments

4b. The "Verified" badge

A Verified badge means StyleSpot checked the stylist's identity and work as described on the Verified page. It isn't a licence check or a guarantee of their service.

5. Reviews, photos and messages

6. Things you can't do

Don't misuse StyleSpot: no fake accounts or bookings, scams, spam, scraping, attempts to break or overload the service, or getting around a stylist's cancellation policy or a suspension.

7. Liability

StyleSpot is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, StyleSpot isn't responsible for the services stylists provide, for disputes between clients and stylists, or for indirect losses. [Have a lawyer write the limits that fit your business and jurisdiction.]

8. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; if the changes are important we'll tell you before they apply. You can stop using StyleSpot at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

9. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [Ontario] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Questions? Email [contact email].
